“Of the 241 artifacts in the collection, 15 (6.2%) were fashioned from metal. Parcel 63 (shared with CCU340W) yielded an iron horseshoe (173.286.1, fig. L), a 1968 penny (173.282.1), and a Timex wristwatch case with a partial movement (173.285.1). The watch case--of UK manufacture--can be dated to no earlier than 1947, the year Timex commenced operations at their Dundee, Scotland facility (Ross 2015).” (Fall 2017 – Group 1)
