Description
The brand "Hi-Nuf" is nowhere to be found on the internet.
A search for the "Atlanta Bottling Company" yields two possible companies, the Atlanta Coca-Cola Bottling Company and the Dr. Pepper Bottling Company, which according to a 1967 lawsuit was a trade name of "Atlanta Bottling Company."
A 1972 job posting in the Atlanta Journal for an Atlanta Bottling Company was located at 3665 OLD JONESBORO RD., S. W. which according to according to a 1966 manufacturing directory is the location of the Dr. Pepper Bottling Co. They were involved in a few lawsuits in the 60s-70s so it seems that was when that company was active.
The Atlanta Coca-Cola Bottling Company was established in 1902 and is still active to this day. However, they were very rarely referred to without the "Coca-Cola." on advertising.
This bottle looks much older than the 60s-70s, if it were to be the product of the Dr. Pepper option. The unique shape somewhat resembles the Pay-Day bottle from around the 1920s. By the 60s-70s sodas usually used ACL (painted) labels over embossed bottles.
Hi-Nuf and the Atlanta Bottling Co. is a mystery, for now.
