<text>Pepto Mangan (Gude) is an iron and manganese based medicine created by Dr. August Gude from Leipzig, Germany in the 1890s. While manufactured in Germany, Pepto Mangan was circulated in the U.S. by drug pharmacist, Max J. Breitenbach who would later own it in 1917. Bottled in a six-sided container, the mixture advertised itself as a clear, palatable liquid treatment for anemia, acid reflux, and stomach problems. The last known advertisement was in 1985 by MedTech Labs.
