Through research, there is a strong correlation between an object that looks like this and metal door handles and "knockers". There was also evidence that this could be a drawer handle for a dresser of some sort. However, it is conclusively a handle of some kind. The research hints at the association of the French Victorian Era. &#13;

The link attached is not an exact match, but it is the closest thing available that is similar to the object in the lab. </text>
